A woman formerly incarcerated at Lowell signs up to vote for the first time since her incarceration. She had been unable to vote due to a new law preventing ex-convicts from voting if they have outstanding fines related to her incarceration. This law was at least temporarily blocked the day previously by a Florida judge who ruled that Florida “cannot deny restoration of a felon’s right to vote solely because the felon does not have the financial resources to pay the other financial obligations.” October 19, 2019.
